Community events are a great opportunity to connect, learn and have fun with your neighbours.

Annual General Meeting
Join us at the Kingsland Community Hall on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00PM for our Annual General Meeting where we will provide an overview of the KCA’s activities in 2023-2024 and our plan for the year ahead. We will also be electing the 2024-2025 board of directors and approving our annual budget.
Park n' Play & Stay n' Play
Park n’ Play and Stay n’ Play are free outdoor programs coming to Kingsland July 2-5!
What are these programs?
Park n’ Play is a drop off program for children ages 6-12 with games and fun directed and supervised by dedicated Park n’ Play staff. Drop your kiddos to have some fun and meet some new friends from our neighbourhood. Runs from 10AM to 3:30PM July 2-5 at the park outside the Kingsland Community Hall.
Stay n’ Play is for children ages 3-5. Children must be accompanied by adult guardians for the duration of their participation and cannot be left unsupervised. Games and activities will be led by dedicated Stay n’ Play staff. Come with your little ones to meet some other young families from around the neighbourhood. Runs from 10AM to 12PM July 2-5 at the park outside the Kingsland Community Hall.

Neighbour Day Free BBQ
Join us on Saturday, June 15 from 11am - 2pm for a free Neighbour Day barbecue at the Kingsland Community Hall. Take part in some fun games hosted by our board and community volunteers and flex your creativity at our all-ages DIY Father’s Day card crafting table.
Food is being donated by our friends and neighbours at Trico LivingWELL, allowing us to provide free hot lunch.
Parade of Garage Sales
Join the 2024 Kingsland Parade of Garage Sales event happening June 8 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Register your sale today!
Seniors Spring Lunch and Learn
Join us on Monday, May 6th for a Seniors Spring Lunch followed by a presentation by Cst. Michelle Jenson from the Calgary Police Crime Prevention Unit titled ‘Seniors - How Not to Get Scammed.’ Complimentary lunch will be provided by Trico LivingWell.
Casino Fundraiser
We are in need of volunteers for our biennial casino fundraiser which is one of the top ways that we raise money to support events in our community.
Our event is set to take place on Sunday, April 14 and Monday, April 15 at Pure Casino (1420 Meridian Rd NE, Calgary, AB T2A 2N9).
Family Day Winter Festival
Join us at the KCA Hall February 19 from 10 AM - 3 PM for our Family Day Winter Festival. Activities will include ice skating on both rinks, tobogganing, minute-to-win-it games and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. Make sure to dress warm and bring your own skates and sleds!
This is a free, family event but we will always welcome donations to help us offer more events!
School Site Redevelopment Sub-Committee Meeting
The Kingsland Community Association is organizing a School Site Redevelopment Sub-committee. An organizational/kick off meeting will be held on November 7, 2023, at 7pm at the KCA hall. If you are interested in joining the sub-committee or helping with initiatives the sub-committee is planning please contact admin@kingslandcommunity.ca.
Can't make the meeting and want to be involved? Please let us know through the email address above we will add you to the sub-committee so you can join future meetings or projects.

Ward 11 Community Coffee
All Ward 11 residents are invited to attend Community Coffee on Friday September 22, 2023 from 8-9:30am at the Windsor Park Community Hall, 5304 6 St SW. The hope is to enjoy coffee outside in the park, but have access to inside the hall if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
‘Community Coffee’ is an opportunity for Ward 11 Counsellor, Kourtney Penner, to meet face-to-face with Ward 11 residents so they can engage in conversation on the issues that matter to them. This series is held on a Friday morning every 2 months or so, rotating through the Ward 11 communities. These are open to all constituents across the 18 communities, but the focus will likely be on the community where the event is held.
Parents & Teens Safety Info Night
Calgary Police Services’ Constable Poitras will be joining us at the Kingsland Community Hall from 7-8:30 PM on Tuesday, September 19 to share safety information specifically targeted at teens.
GlobalFest Groves - Mini One World Festival
Join us as we highlight the incredible diversity of Calgary’s cultural communities. Enjoy food trucks and live performances by performers from a variety of diverse cultures and backgrounds at the park behind the Kingsland Junction development from 1:00pm - 4:00pm on June 25.
Kids fun with Cops CANCELLED
Unfortunately this event has been CANCELLED due to the Police Unit being moved onto assignment. We hope to reschedule for a future date so keep your eyes on our website events page for when that announcement comes
Community Cleanup Day
The Annual Kingsland Community Cleanup Day is on June 10, 2023. We will need a few volunteers with trucks and helpers to come out and pick up articles from back alleys, manage site traffic control, unload vehicles, etc. We also offer Assisted Item Pickup for residents who are unable to get their items to the Hall.
Parade of Garage Sales
Join in the 2023 Kingsland Parade of Garage Sales event June 3 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Register your garage sale by 12 PM on May 31 to be included in our map.
Spring Plant Fundraiser
It’s back! Last year’s Spring Plant Fundraiser was a huge success and we are excited to partner with Growing Smiles Fundraising and the Kingsland Preschool to host another sale this year. Flowers, veggies, succulents, planters, and more are available to order until April 29 at noon. Pickup on May 13 at the Kingsland Community Hall. We’re also looking for some volunteers to help out on delivery and pickup day.
Crime Prevention & Safety Info Night
Join us and our Community Resource Officer, Constable Jake Tyerman, at the Hall on May 2 from 7-9PM to talk crime and safety in Kingsland. Bring your questions, concerns, and comments!
Ward 11 Community Coffee
Community Coffee is an opportunity for you to connect with Councillor Kourtney Penner.
Free Family Card Making Event at the Hall
Mark your calendars for December 10 from 9am-12pm, because we’re bringing you a FREE holiday card making event at the Kingsland Community Hall! We’ll have all the supplies you and your family need to make some lovely holiday cards for your loved one, and some wonderful helpers to guide you in your crafting!
Opiate Awareness & FREE Naloxone Training
Join us at the Hall on November 21 from 6:45-8pm to learn about the reality of living with substance use issues and homelessness, and the history of opiates and the illicit drug market in Alberta and Canada. Facilitated by David Fraser.

Kingsland's biggest annual fundraiser, 'Casino Night', is looking for volunteers!
We still need 9 volunteers to cover a variety of positions at Cowboys Casino between October 26 & 27. There are several types of positions available each day.
Understanding Homelessness & Addiction in Kingsland
Join us at the Kingsland Community Hall to talk about addiction and homelessness in Kingsland. We’ll be joined by Calgary Alpha House and our Community Social Worker, Viviana. Bring your questions and concerns and be ready for a productive discussion.
Community Game Nights
We’re hosting a board game night! Join us at the Community Hall for Family Night on October 10 from 6-9PM or Adults Night on October 11 from 7-10PM. Bring your own games or play some of ours, it’s sure to be fun no matter what! We’ll also have snacks and drinks available for purchase at our cash-only concession.
Community Beer Tasting with Bitter Sisters
Together with Bitter Sisters Brewing Co. we are hosting a community beer tasting event on Tuesday, September 13 starting at 6pm! The event will be held at Bitter Sisters, where you will learn about their beer and brewing process, ask any of your burning questions, and enjoy some of their fan favourite beers and appetizers.
Crime Prevention and Safety Night

Free Flower Pot Painting Event
Join us at the Hall on August 6 from 1-3PM for a FREE flower pot painting event! We’ll supply all the required materials (flower pot, saucer, paint, and paint brushes), plus soil, a plant, and a bag of seeds for next year! Funds for this event have been supplied by the Calgary Foundation!
Parade of Garage Sales
The Kingsland Parade of Garage Sales is back! Sales will run from 9am to 3pm on July 17th. Register your sale with us by noon on July 16th to be added to our map. Maps will be available online and at the Kingsland Community Hall on July 17th at 9AM.
GlobalFest Groves - Mini One World Festival
