Meet Our New Website
We are excited to share our latest project with you and hope you enjoy all that our new website has to offer.
Welcome to our new website! As you can see, we have have made some pretty big changes.
Our website refresh project was pitched by our Communications Director, Kaitlin Quickel, in the summer of 2021 alongside a Kingsland Community Association brand update. A community-wide logo contest was held and the winner (submitted by Kingsland resident Graham L.) was decided by popular vote and unveiled at our October 2021 AGM.
With the new logo in place, Amanda from the KCA Communications Committee worked to present a budget and game plan to the Board of Directors for a brand new website and membership management software that would give members the ability to self-register for more of our services and opportunities. We’ve partnered with Communal, a Calgary-based software company that specializes in building community management solutions, and Graham Langbroek Design, a local Kingsland graphic design duo who are passionate about our neighbourhood. The result? A brand new look and tons of new features!
The Website
One main goal informed the design of the new website: streamlining the user experience. Page navigation has been entirely reconfigured and reworked to simplify your path to the resources you are looking for. All of our most accessed pages are still here, but we have cut out some of the older information that was getting less views. If you cannot find something that you are looking for reach out to us and we’ll help!
The Software
Our new software allows you to manage your own membership, volunteer and program sign ups, and hall rental requests. If you had a 2021-2022 membership we have made an online account for you, so watch your inbox for an email from us on how to set your password. One really great feature we recommend checking out is the ‘auto-renew’ feature, which allows you to set and forget your membership! You will need to opt-in to use this feature.
You do not need to be a member to register for a free Kingsland Community Association account, you can use the account to sign up for volunteer opportunities and programs and request hall rentals without an active membership.
